About The Position

We are looking for a Benefits Analyst to join our dynamic team of high-achieving professionals dedicated to delivering an exceptional client experience. As a Benefits Analyst, you'll play a key role in managing and supporting a portfolio of Group Insurance & Retirement (Pension) clients. You will provide group benefits consulting support, including design and financial management for our existing client block and prospective clients. The Benefits Analyst will work closely with internal business development, client management and leadership teams, interface with vendors, support client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an analysis in the group benefits space
  • Knowledge of Canadian benefits industry and group benefits financial underwriting requirements for all types of employee benefits plans
  • A passion for delivering excellent client service
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a genuine interest in community engagement
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • CEBS designation is not required, but a strong asset to the role
  • Experience in group insurance, pension/retirement, or a related field (preferred, not required)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the overall design and management of group medical, dental, life, disability and special risk benefits for clients.
  • Annual renewal analysis and negotiations with carriers; prepare client reports and presentations.
  • Experience reporting, budget projections and reviewing financial performance plans.
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and adherence to underwriting agreements.
  • Conduct marketings; including preparing and submitting specifications, analysis, cost comparisons and recommendations on marketing responses, and preparing marketing report.
  • Gather data and determine cost impact for plan design changes.
  • Support the business development consultants and account management teams in preparing documents for client presentations, RFP’s and client meetings.
  • Participate in industry conferences, seminars, etc. to keep abreast of industry trends and activities.
  • Build relationships with clients, carriers, and internal, cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct plan design benchmarking studies.
  • Review all benefits documentation (contracts, booklets, collective agreement, amendments) for accuracy.
  • Prepare detailed plan design documents using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint templates, and manage updates when required.
  • Investigate and assist with resolving ad hoc claims and coverage issues for clients.
  • Supporting additional tasks and projects as needed
