About The Position

This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of Phoebe's integrated Benefits Administration, Enrollment, and Communication Platform. This includes evaluating and analyzing employee benefit costs, assisting in the design and implementation of benefit programs to ensure the offering of competitive and cost-effective benefit offerings, and overseeing the administrative aspect of the organization's comprehensive Health and Wellness program. The role assists employees in understanding Phoebe's benefits offerings and acts as a liaison between Phoebe and third-party benefits providers. Responsibilities include conducting orientation or enrollment meetings, advising on eligibility, costs, and coverage, and providing information for use in memos, presentations, or other benefits communications. The position also provides guidance during claims or enrollment processes and maintains records related to benefits plan participation or contributions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, accounting or a related field.
  • 3 years experience in HR and employee benefits administration.
  • Essential Microsoft Excel skills a must

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)-IFEBP
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI

Responsibilities

  • Administers daily benefit operations.
  • Assists employees with overall knowledge and understanding of benefit offerings and benefit plan designs.
  • Analyzes costs and trends in benefits programs in order to recommend changes.
  • Analyzes costs and competitive trends in employee benefit programs as compared to the hospitals current position related to trends.
  • Recommends changes and addition to the benefit program.
  • Participates in and supports the review of benefit programs/costs and employee/employer cost sharing relationships.
  • Participates in the development of benefit program policies and procedures.
  • Oversees department projects to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
  • Serves as administrator for annual department projects including but not limited to total compensation statements, discretionary contributions, and annual enrollment.
  • Monitors the flow of data between systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Performs data audits.
  • Oversees data flow including interface files to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinates the preparation of various reports to ensure state and federal compliance.
  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current Knowledge in present areas of responsibility to include any specialty certification requirements (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
