About The Position

Our Service Center Total Rewards Team is looking for a Benefits Analyst to serve as the backbone of our strategy team. This role will manage everything from 401(k) data compliance and leave-related benefits to intricate HRIS integrations and premium reconciliations. The ideal candidate is a data-driven expert who thrives on solving complex technical puzzles, speaks 'system' fluently, excels at UAT, and takes pride in ensuring financial accuracy and seamless vendor performance. This role is based onsite at the Service Center in San Juan Capistrano, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in benefits administration, 401(k) data audits/integrations, and leave benefits continuation preferred.
  • Deep experience in HRIS system troubleshooting, specification creation and testing (Workday preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage financial reconciliations, including retro-premium calculations and arrears management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex reporting).
  • Strong working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA.
  • Exceptional ability to identify technical issues in automated workflows and perform detailed data comparisons.
  • Ability to distill technical benefits/payroll issues into clear, empathetic, and actionable guidance for employees.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest degree of integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications (CEBS, CBP, SHRM-CP/SCP, CLMS. or PHR).
  • Specific project experience managing end-to-end UAT cycles for HRIS benefits modules.
  • Experience in a multi-site or field-affiliate organizational structure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the bridge between the Service Center and our field affiliates, fostering hands-on partnerships with site leadership to gather critical service intelligence, drive local program adoption, and ensure Total Rewards offerings are aligned with operational needs.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for all benefits continuation needs (COBRA, ACA and/or benefits while on leave), acting as a strong partner for field affiliates and partners.
  • Own the lifecycle of benefits systems, acting as the bridge between HR strategy and technical execution, drafting detailed functional specifications, overseeing HRIS work order prioritization, and maintaining quality through comprehensive end-user testing.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues within the benefits and absence modules, troubleshooting and resolving complex system errors, and working with the Business Systems Analyst team to identify root causes and implement fixes.
  • Support final testing and sign off of integration files and technical program updates/changes to ensure seamless data flow between the HRIS and external carriers; proactively identify and remediate vendor data anomalies.
  • Act as the point of contact for the HR Services team for solution partnership when issues arise.
  • Deep-dive into vendor integration issues to prevent downstream errors.
  • Utilize analytical rigor to audit the logic of benefit deductions and events, ensuring issues are resolved in alignment with company policy and payroll cycles.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for benefits module-to-payroll calculations.
  • Proactively audit, identify, and resolve discrepancies in premium deductions, executing complex retroactive adjustments and managing arrears recovery with precision and transparency.
