About The Position

In this position, the Benchmarking Analyst collaborates with program management, functional engineering, weight, marketing, and VEV teams to identify full vehicle, system, and commodity key performance indicators to be benchmarked. The role involves working with teams to identify key areas where engineering analysis and benchmarking information is required (i.e., platform analysis, ADAS, ICE, BEV, emerging technologies) and utilizing 6 Sigma and statistical analysis methods to analyze and interpret benchmark data. The analyst will deliver valuable and actionable in-depth strategic analysis of teardown properties and communicate results to their customers. Experience in TVM or cost savings is desired to support this role. This role will include comparing parts/sub-systems/systems to identify from a cost perspective, design gaps, propose solution sets to bridge the gaps, and work with the functional teams to process these ideas. The analyst will also work with teams to select teardown properties to support the corporate cycle plan and priorities, align with core engineering and commodity technical leads to identify “gaps” in benchmark data/information, and collaborate with program management, functional engineering, weight, marketing, and VEV teams to identify full vehicle, system, and commodity key performance indicators to be benchmarked. The analyst will develop and utilize “standard” engineering analysis reports for all full vehicle teardowns, identify full vehicle/system/commodity test plans, coordinate with the teardown team, review competitive intelligence databases and publications to determine future vehicle trends, and possess a high-level understanding of cost and quality features that drive full vehicle and system engineering efficiencies. The role also includes planning, leading, and executing workshops, supporting ad-hoc requests, supporting GPDS benchmarking deliverables, providing benchmarking training, collaborating with external partners like A2MAC1, Caresoft, and Munro for idea generation, supporting market alignment studies, investigating alternative benchmarking strategies, and producing video content of competitive vehicle features and unique engineering finds.
