Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Bench Mechanic for the Weekend shift. This role involves performing pre-coating operations such as surface preparation and masking, as well as post-coating tasks like removing parts from fixtures, removing masking, troubleshooting, and diagnosing malfunctioning equipment. Minor repairs on coating equipment may also be required. The position involves deburring, blending, polishing, countersinking, grinding, drilling, or grit blast operations on aerospace engine components using various hand and power tools. Additionally, the role includes performing Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines/equipment, checking parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements using measuring equipment, and ensuring completed parts meet quality standards. The Bench Mechanic will also work from oral and written instructions to remove burrs, nicks, and scratches on parts, assist engineers in developing new operations, and make recommendations for improving operating parameters and processes. Flexibility around shifts, including overtime for training and workflow maintenance, is required, along with the ability to handle multiple significant priorities.
