About The Position

Signet Jewelers is hiring entry-level and experienced Jewelers for its Field Design & Service Center Teams. Team members restore jewelry, perform repairs, and may design custom, one-of-a-kind jewelry depending on their current skillset. The team is dedicated to providing a customer-first experience that exceeds expectations for custom jewelry design and repairs. The company offers training and continuous learning, with opportunities to develop from beginner to artisan in a promote-from-within environment. Pay is $17.00–$24.00, with the final rate determined by experience and qualifications. Full-time work consists of 40 hours per week, with seasonal required overtime. Hours vary and may include some nights and weekends. The position is located in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

Requirements

1–3 years of bench jeweler or relevant skilled-trades experience working with fine metals.
Pass a qualified bench test to assess current jeweler skill level.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Customer-service orientation and a high standard for quality work.
Basic computer skills.
Varying availability, including some nights and weekends.
A high school degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge or experience in stone setting, sizing, polishing, and jewelry repair.

Responsibilities

Restore jewelry to its original condition and perform jewelry repairs.
Perform applicable bench work based on current skills, such as chain and clasp repair, prong retipping, stone setting, creating stone mountings, channel and platinum rebuilds, and minor ring repairs.
Depending on skillset, perform wax carving, fabrication, casting, custom design and creation, or CAD/CAM design work.
Deliver a customer-first experience for custom jewelry design and repair.
