About The Position
Signet Jewelers is seeking entry-level and experienced jewelers to join its Field Design & Service Center Team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Team members restore jewelry, perform repairs, and may design and create custom jewelry depending on their skills. The role is part of a promote-from-within environment with training and ongoing learning opportunities to help jewelers develop from entry level to experienced artisan. The team aims to deliver a customer-first experience that exceeds expectations for custom jewelry design and repairs. The position offers competitive pay based on experience and qualifications. Full-time work is 40 hours per week, with seasonal required overtime and varying hours that may include some nights and weekends.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- 1–3 years of bench jeweler or relevant skilled-trades experience working with fine metals.
- Pass a qualified bench test assessing current jeweler skill level.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Customer-service-minded approach and high standards for quality work.
- Basic computer skills.
- Availability for varying hours, including some nights and weekends.
- Ability to work seasonal required overtime.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge or experience in stone setting, sizing, polishing, and jewelry repair.
- Experience with chain and clasp repair, prong retipping, stone mounting, channel and platinum rebuilds, minor ring repair, wax carving, fabrication, casting, custom design, or CAD/CAM.
Responsibilities
- Repair jewelry, including chains, clasps, prongs, rings, and other pieces.
- Set stones and create stone mountings.
- Perform channel and platinum rebuilds.
- Carve wax, fabricate, and cast jewelry.
- Design and create custom jewelry, including CAD/CAM design work where applicable.
- Restore jewelry to its original condition and meet customer expectations for quality and service.
