About The Position

Melanie Casey is seeking Master Bench Jewelers to join their production network as independent contractors (1099). This role offers the freedom of self-employment with the stability of an established fine jewelry brand. It is designed for highly skilled professionals who take pride in operating at an elite level and want to run their own operation in collaboration with a brand known for uncompromising quality and delicate design. This position is intended for experienced jewelers seeking a full-time production volume, focusing on pieces that demand both technical artistry and precision. The role is designed to deliver annual earnings between $55K–$75K with consistent, high-volume, high-quality, weekly production.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of continuous professional bench jeweler experience.
  • Ability to self-direct, self-critique, and consistently deliver production-ready pieces.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools for communication, work order management, and specifications.
  • Must have a torch appropriate for soldering and welding platinum and gold.
  • Must have a fully equipped, ergonomically appropriate jeweler's workbench.
  • Must have a reliable dust and fume ventilation system.
  • Must have a professional-grade jeweler’s setting microscope (e.g., Lieca A60s with GRS Acrobat mounts).
  • Must have a secure location for storing work orders.
  • Must have access to a UPS or FedEx shipping hub.
  • Must pass a practical bench test conducted from your studio.
  • Must pass mandatory questionnaires, reference checks, and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain your own consumables, tools, and workspace.
  • Receive and manage work orders digitally.
  • Produce production-ready pieces that meet exact standards.
  • Collaborate with the internal team for ongoing support.
