About The Position

NACG is looking for a Bench Hand to work in our maintenance facility in Acheson. The successful candidate must be well-organized and prioritize safety. Requirements

  • Knowledge about maintenance, and a general knowledge of mechanical aspects or equivalent work experience
  • High school diploma
  • Must have valid class 5 driver's license
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Always demonstrate safety
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Basic computer literacy/skills
  • Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a recent Driver’s Abstract
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Breath Alcohol Test, Urine Drug Test, Fitness-to-Work Assessment, Audiometric Testing, Vision Screening, Criminal Record Check

  • Experience around heavy equipment is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Move tools, materials, parts, components and materials to and from work areas
  • Fuels, greases/lubing and services heavy equipment
  • Performs preventative maintenance including but not limited to tire changes and oil filter changes
  • Assist journeyman with minor repairs and maintenance of equipment
  • Washing/cleaning and preparing heavy equipment
  • Painting & Sandblasting equipment components
  • Acts as a spotter for heavy equipment
  • Provides general clean up and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of work area
  • Teardown of equipment and components
  • Undercarriage rebuilds
