About The Position

This is a seasonal position working November 19 – December 24, 2026. Schedules and locations will vary. Part-time and full-time opportunities available. Apply online and visit us at the 2026 Bell Ringer Information Session Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The Salvation Army of Gainesville 639 E University Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601. This position is responsible for ringing bells for The Salvation Army Christmas Program at assigned locations; ensuring that the Kettle is never left unattended; and greeting the public in a courteous and friendly manner.

Requirements

• No formal education or experience requirements.
• Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.
• Ability to greet and respond to the general public courteously.
• Ability to abide by required dress code.
• Ability to ring small hand bell and be responsible for bell and apron.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army and conducts all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Rings bells for The Salvation Army Christmas Program at assigned locations.
• Ensures that the Kettle is never left unattended.
