About The Position

Our House, Inc. is seeking a Behavior Specialist to join our Behavioral Services team. This role is crucial in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by developing and implementing evidence-based behavioral supports. The Behavior Specialist will work under the supervision of a BCBA Clinical Supervisor, providing consultation and support across residential and day service programs. This position involves behavioral assessment, staff training, data analysis, and direct support to ensure high-quality, ethical, and person-centered services. The ideal candidate is passionate about behavior support, staff training, data analysis, and improving outcomes for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Human Services, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus five years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Must complete Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Training within three months of employment.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to travel extensively between agency locations.
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete required DDD, Medicaid, and agency trainings.
  • Ability to maintain CPR, First Aid, Verbal De-escalation, and Handle With Care certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Support Plans.
  • Create behavioral interventions and support strategies based on participant needs.
  • Modify programming and behavioral materials to support individual growth and success.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop effective behavioral supports.
  • Ensure all behavioral programming aligns with BACB ethical standards and DDD requirements.
  • Provide billable behavioral services in accordance with participant service plans.
  • Deliver services in person and remotely as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within MyEvolv.
  • Complete required reports, progress notes, and behavioral documentation.
  • Upload and maintain participant behavioral information within electronic health records.
  • Collect, review, and analyze behavioral data.
  • Develop and maintain data collection systems.
  • Utilize data to evaluate intervention effectiveness and identify trends.
  • Make recommendations for program modifications based on behavioral outcomes.
  • Train staff on Behavior Support Plans and intervention strategies.
  • Provide education regarding Applied Behavior Analysis principles.
  • Model appropriate behavioral interventions and support techniques.
  • Monitor implementation fidelity and provide coaching as needed.
  • Support training initiatives related to behavioral health and specialized participant needs.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, behavior plan meetings, intake reviews, and agency meetings.
  • Collaborate with Day Services, Residential Services, Nursing, and Behavioral Services teams.
  • Support admissions, transitions, and participant service planning.
  • Work collaboratively with external providers and stakeholders when needed.
  • Maintain compliance with DDD regulations, Medicaid standards, and agency policies.
  • Cooperate with licensing, inspection, and regulatory reviews.
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant, employee, and agency information.
  • Ensure all documentation meets Medicaid and regulatory requirements.
