About The Position

Provide rehabilitative support regarding the care of a co-occurring population ensuring that clients and staff have what they need to follow lead of the Therapists and Executive Director. This role involves line of sight supervision of clients, facilitating educational and support groups, documenting client activities and behaviors, preparing and monitoring medication administration, and assisting with educational activities. The Behavioral Technician is expected to maintain active participation with clients, encourage their engagement in daily activities, and promote positive peer interactions. Open communication with staff, therapists, and the Executive Director is crucial. The position also requires carrying out other delegated responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • First aid and CPR certification (if hired, we will pay for you to obtain)
  • Current drivers’ license, valid for minimum of five years, and clear DMV record
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic Computer skills i.e. internet, email, and Word
  • Must be able to lift and carry light objects and parcels as an incidental part of their job
  • Possesses a High School diploma or GED.
  • A knowledge of regulations concerning of mental health treatment.
  • Working knowledge of substance abuse, mental health disorders, and treatment procedures for such illnesses.

Nice To Haves

  • AA/BA in mental health related field preferred, not required.
  • Have a minimum of 1-year experience in the social services field preferred.
  • Demonstrates a genuine desire to work with the population served.
  • Certification in mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide line of sight supervision to clients and skill building psycho-educational and/or support groups.
  • Complete house related chores as assigned.
  • Provide and facilitate educational and non-substantive counseling groups assigned and promptly document these activities in the client’s records.
  • Strive to increase professional growth and effectiveness through completing all required training.
  • Provides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary.
  • Maintain active participation with the clients at all times.
  • Prepare and monitor medication administration then document all details in KIPU.
  • Document clients’ daily activities, unusual behavior, and pertinent information in KIPU.
  • Open communication with staff, therapists, and Executive Director.
  • Assist the Educational Director during designated school times, with education related activities and monitoring of the client’s computer internet use.
  • Encourage client’s participation in all daily activities and promote positive interactions among peers.
  • Carry out other responsibilities as delegated.

Benefits

  • Pay increases will be structured as follows, contingent upon maintaining full-time employment status and satisfactory performance: At the completion of: 6 Months +$1.00/hour, 1 Year + $1.50/hour, 2 Years + $1.00/hour. New Pay rate by year 2: $28.50/hour
