About The Position

Achievement Behavior Services (ABS) is an agency founded ten years ago, in 2015, by BCBAs and LCSWs. We specialize in supporting children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families through direct, in-home/in-community Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapeutic services. Our mission is to use ABA principles to mentor and support these children, enhancing their communication, adaptability, resilience, and independence. As a Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with children in their natural environments, implementing individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Requirements

  • Most Relevant Areas of Study: Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, Special education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology
  • Strong and multi-tiered stakeholder communication skills required.
  • Adaptability and decisiveness under high-stress situations.
  • Exhibits professional administrative reliability: punctuality and responsiveness.
  • Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children.
  • Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues.
  • Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.
  • Intuitive, engaging, compassionate, and person-centered approaches.
  • Proven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goals.
  • Structured and creative play skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Responsibilities

  • Engaging in rapport building and finding creative solutions to help students communicate their needs, wants, and feelings more effectively.
  • Measuring, assessing, and documenting student progress on the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
  • Conducting goal-oriented, in-home, direct service work with students, implementing ABA approaches such as discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward systems.
  • Completing thorough session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.
  • Actively engaging with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s).
  • Communicating effectively and respectfully with clients, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkers.
