About The Position

This role involves providing direct care to residents with primary mental health diagnoses and/or co-occurring disorders in a residential setting. The Behavioral Tech will implement client treatment plans, oversee residents' daily living activities (cooking, housekeeping, laundry, personal hygiene, medication management), monitor progress, and communicate with the treatment team. The position requires acting as a positive role model, using motivational interviewing, and cooperating with other providers and family members. The role also involves facilitating programming using evidence-based behavioral management techniques to help individuals return to a pre-crisis level of functioning and stabilize crisis situations.

Requirements

  • HSD/GED
  • A valid driver's license and car insurance
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain one
  • Ability to regularly use various computer apps including Microsoft Office, our HRIS, EHR and other online systems, with multiple logins often simultaneously.
  • Willingness to submit background check and fingerprinting

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the direct care of residents during designated working hours.
  • Implement client treatment plans.
  • Reduce residents' level of distress and stabilize crisis situations.
  • Oversee residents' cooking, housekeeping, laundry, and personal hygiene skills.
  • Oversee residents in taking their medications.
  • Observe residents' behavior and functioning.
  • Monitor progress on treatment plans.
  • Communicate with appropriate team members.
  • Offer encouragement for residents to be involved in their own treatment.
  • Act as a positive role model for residents.
  • Provide ongoing guidance with the use of motivational interviewing.
  • Work in cooperation with other providers, family members, or significant others involved in residents' recovery plan.
  • Facilitate programming using evidence-based behavioral management techniques.
