Behavioral Support Staff for Disabled Adults
About The Position
Strategies to Empower People (STEP) is hiring full-time Behavioral Support Staff to provide in-home and community support for adults with physical disabilities as well as Developmental Disabilities including Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, intellectual disabilities, and more. The adults supported by this position also have regular and consistent behavioral challenges which include physical & verbal aggression, elopement, self-injurious behaviors, and other similar needs. Behavioral Support Staff provide hands-on support for our clients who exhibit regular and consistent behaviors. We are looking for empathetic, patient, and creative individuals who can help our clients find new ways to grow their independence while supporting their behavioral needs!
Requirements
- Must be 18+ with a high school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Completion
- Must have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of qualifying behavioral experience (professional experience, i.e. work-related)
- May be required to provide CA Driver License, current auto insurance, and maintain a clear Motor Vehicle Record for positions that require driving
