About The Position

The Behavioral Support Specialist will provide behavior support services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the Nisonger Center. This role involves performing functional behavior assessments and analysis, training family members and staff at community agencies in data collection and strategy implementation, and collaborating with school, residential, and day program staff and families to develop behavior support strategies. The specialist will present strategies for approval to appropriate review committees and revise them as necessary, prepare billing statements, and document individual progress while preparing reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Applied Behavioral Analysis, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Rehabilitation.
  • 0 years of relevant experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure (BCBA, LSW, LPC, etc.) desired.
  • Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or Social Work preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides behavior support services to children and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Performs functional behavior assessments.
  • Writes behavior support strategies.
  • Presents strategies for approval and revises strategies when appropriate.
  • Trains behavioral strategy implementers such as family members and staff at community agencies in data collection and implementation of behavior support strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
