About The Position

ATTIC Correctional Services is seeking a Behavioral Support Assistant to provide security and supervision of correctional clients at one of their Residential Treatment Centers. This role involves monitoring client whereabouts and behavior, maintaining essential paperwork, conducting facility checks, and assigning client activities such as chores and testing. The assistant will also supervise clients in daily tasks like meal preparation and household chores to foster responsibility, initiative, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • One year of experience working with correctional clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to interact with staff, clients, and agents in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information.
  • Strong decision making abilities and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and sanitation.
  • Experience in record-keeping.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience and/or education relating to corrections, community based residential facilities (CBRF), criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, or law enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe environment for clients.
  • Supervise the client’s whereabouts and behavior.
  • Maintain required paperwork – daily logs, progress notes, and incident reporting.
  • Conduct facility checks.
  • Assign client activities-chore task, urinalysis/breathalyzer testing.
  • Supervise client meal preparation, and household chores ensuring accountability.
