About The Position

This position with APD will serve staff and management across the Agency. Your work will impact the workplace culture, our community, and the population we serve as we continuously strive to achieve the Agency’s mission. This is professional work that completes assessments, develop behavioral programs, and provide training to staff in a multiple residential unit: Ability to document and ensure documentation is completed as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Exceptional Student Education, or a related field
  • Knowledge of the theories and principles of behavior analysis, psychology or learning theory.
  • Knowledge of functional behavior assessment.
  • Ability to administer and interpret adaptive behavior instruments.
  • Ability to prepare therapeutic program and reports.
  • Ability to graph, analyze and interpret psychological data.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Nice To Haves

  • certification as a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, or a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Exceptional Student Education, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing maladaptive behaviors, which present barriers to independent functioning, by developing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA).
  • Developing and updating behavioral procedures and data collection systems for reduction of maladaptive behavior through assessing graphic data presentations.
  • Providing technical assistance to staff in areas of maladaptive behavior reduction and/or skill acquisition.
  • Attending meetings of Interdisciplinary Team including, but not limited to, Local Review Committee (LRC), Individual Program Plan (IPP) meetings, active treatment meetings, and psychiatric consultations as a representative of behavioral services.
  • Assist with all aspects of the token store operations including, but not limited to stocking shelves, shopping for items, and conducting preference assessments.
  • Providing technical assistance to providers represented by other professionals (e.g. recreation, pre-vocational skills, etc.)
  • Reviewing progress of maladaptive behavior reduction programs.
  • Provide support for Individual and/or group counseling related to resident needs.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
