About The Position

Lifesteps, a Western Pennsylvania nonprofit agency, is hiring a full-time Behavioral Specialist to serve individuals and participants in its community homes program. The position is based at an office in Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, or Castle Shannon, Pennsylvania, and involves travel throughout Allegheny and Washington Counties to provide services to adults with intellectual disabilities.

The Behavioral Specialist conducts functional assessments and develops strategies and behavior support plans for participants. The role includes providing on-site training to participants, staff, parents, and caregivers, monitoring participant success, and evaluating progress with the care team. The stated schedule is daytime, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Human Services or a closely related field, such as Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Therapy, Education, or Child and Family Development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Current driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Experience working with adults with an intellectual disability.
• ABA Certification.
• Pennsylvania Behavior Specialist Licensure.

Responsibilities
