This position directs, coordinates, facilitates, monitors, and improves the daily operations of the multi-disciplinary behavioral team providing therapeutic care to a designated patient population. The role is responsible for developing team procedures in accordance with overall agency policy and regulation, assuring implementation of procedures by team members, and ensuring clients receive treatment in accordance with team procedures and agency policies. The position often works in security settings where policies and procedures must be followed to ensure the safety of themselves and others. It is responsible for quality improvement/management and the administrative and clinical implementation of treatment programs, and participates in global strategic planning. The role collaborates, negotiates, and cooperates with a multi-disciplinary team (includes social workers, recreational and physical therapists, administrative assistants and nursing) to facilitate the highest quality treatment program for patient recovery and rehabilitation. Functions as a steward of public health dollars to ensure expenditures in an effective and efficient manner. Supervisory responsibility includes documentation to support recommended corrective and disciplinary actions; signing performance plans and appraisals and resolving informal grievances. The position starts the hiring process, interviews applicants and hires, promotes or transfers. Includes accountability for, including signature authority, for actions and decisions that directly impact pay, status, and tenure of five or more full-time equivalent positions.
