About The Position

Community Youth Services (CYS) is seeking a passionate Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Therapist to provide crucial behavioral health services to youth aged 15 to 24, guiding them toward autonomy and independence. The role involves offering tailored support, implementing evidence-based practices, and empowering youth through a strength-based approach. The TAY Therapist will utilize the Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP) approach to ensure stability and a youth-centered path to independence, while also enhancing communication, building natural supports, establishing healthy boundaries, and inspiring hope within a compassionate team.

Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Required Washington State credentials: Mental Health Professional Child Mental Health Specialist.
  • Licensed as one of the following: Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Mental Counselor Associate, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, Licensed Social Worker Associate.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in providing clinical services in homes, communities, and schools is preferred.
  • Licensed as one of the following: Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Mental Counselor Associate, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, Licensed Social Worker Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical assessments, documentation, case notes, and plans for treatment, service, and discharge.
  • Collaborate with systems like Juvenile Justice, mental health services, community supports, schools, and DCYF.
  • Possess knowledge of cultural issues affecting marginalized youth and young adults.
  • Understand legal matters related to children and families, including court procedures and DCYF policies.
  • Provide therapy and support services in homes, schools, and communities, adhering to MAP protocols.
  • Manage a caseload of 15-25 clients, depending on case complexity.
  • Document data as mandated by MAP and other regulatory bodies.
  • Engage in regular meetings, supervision, and consultations.
  • Ensure ongoing communication and care coordination with an integrated service team.
  • Track client outcomes using MAP tools and adapt treatment interventions accordingly.
  • Complete all required paperwork on time and meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in developing sustainability plans and community supports for clients transitioning out of TAY services.
