About The Position

This position works under clinical supervision and requires considerable knowledge of behavioral healthcare programs and program techniques. As a member of an interdisciplinary mental health treatment team, the provider is responsible for assigned mental health interventions for a caseload of mentally ill criminal offenders. The role involves completing screenings, including detailed mental health screens and risk assessments (inclusive of suicide watch assessments when within scope of practice and allowable per credentialing board, ODRC policy, and in consultation with an Independently Licensed Mental Health Professional if not independently licensed). The provider will conduct individual and group clinical interventions as prescribed on the individual mental health treatment plan using clinical intervention strategies within their scope of practice and directed by supervision. They will also provide psychosocial group interventions, mental health liaison services to an assigned caseload (monitoring offender progress with mental health treatment plan goals), and complete psychosocial needs and treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning. Additionally, the role includes completing transfer and discharge summaries, consulting with other institution staff regarding inmate adjustment and service needs, initiating and maintaining contact with families and community agencies, providing and seeking information relative to patient care and treatment, making appropriate community referrals, and writing reports and/or documentation (including electronic documentation of all inmate contacts, progress notes, discharge plans, and miscellaneous forms/reports as needed). The provider will attend meetings of social work or counselor supervision and in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development. Teaching in-service may also be assigned.

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.

Responsibilities
