About The Position

Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) is seeking a Behavioral Health Urgent Care Coordinator (LISW, LPCC) to join our mission to help individuals with mental illness and addictions lead healthy and productive lives. GCBHS has an immediate opening for an independently licensed behavioral health professional to coordinate and lead our Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) program in Hamilton County. This leadership role combines clinical expertise, program development, and operational oversight to ensure individuals experiencing urgent behavioral health needs receive timely access to assessment, crisis intervention, medication management, and ongoing treatment services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another behavioral health-related field.
  • Active independent Ohio licensure (LISW, LPCC, IMFT, or equivalent) required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention, diagnostic assessment, suicide risk assessment, behavioral health triage, and person-centered treatment planning.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office, and data management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in behavioral health urgent care, crisis services, emergency psychiatric services, program coordination, project management, or community behavioral health strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily clinical and operational functions of the Behavioral Health Urgent Care program.
  • Provide clinical leadership and serve as the primary resource for BHUC staff during daily operations.
  • Coordinate care among psychiatrists, nurses, diagnosticians, care managers, peer support specialists, and community partners.
  • Ensure timely triage, diagnostic assessments, crisis intervention, and linkage to appropriate behavioral health services.
  • Facilitate same-day psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and behavioral health treatment whenever clinically appropriate.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments, behavioral health evaluations, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and clinical consultations.
  • Lead ongoing development and enhancement of BHUC workflows, best practices, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate implementation and monitoring of grant-funded initiatives, including Millstone Grant activities and reporting.
  • Evaluate program outcomes, identify service gaps, and recommend operational improvements to expand access and improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide clinical consultation, staff training, and guidance to interdisciplinary team members while promoting evidence-based practices and agency standards.
