About The Position

Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered, integrated care with purpose and integrity. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Health Therapist – School-Based committed to clinical excellence and supporting the wellness of patients of all ages. This role provides comprehensive behavioral health services on-site at Asheville City Schools. Our therapists provide treatment planning, crisis intervention, and solution-focused, evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The therapist collaborates closely with school-based team (teachers, counselor, principal), family members, and the broader interdisciplinary team. Behavioral Health Therapists are full-time employees and work year-round. BH Therapists may provide clinic-based services during high demand periods or when school is out of session.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or clinical mental health counseling.
  • Fully licensed with LCSW or dually licensed with LCMHC and LCAS.
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Experience completing clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and integrated care teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and a diverse healthcare team.
  • Collaborative, team-focused communication style with the ability to work effectively across clinical and community settings.
  • Working knowledge of medical office operations and familiarity with the role of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) within the community.

Responsibilities
