About The Position

The Iowa Primary Care Association is recruiting a full-time Behavioral Health Therapist to provide care at a community health center (FQHC) and oversee patients in Ames and Marshalltown, Iowa. The role splits time between both clinic locations, with the option to conduct some telehealth visits. The therapist sees an average of six patients per day and works 40 hours per week. The schedule is flexible, with options of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; there are no weekends or call. Salary is competitive and negotiable based on experience, and relocation options are available. The position may be eligible for student loan repayment through state and federal programs.

The community health center offers integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services to underserved communities and populations. The role uses Epic. Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited master’s social work, counseling, marriage/family therapy, and/or behavioral health education program.
• Licensed as a behavioral health professional to practice independently in Iowa (LISW, LMFT, or LMHC).
• BLS, ACLS, or ATLS certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of behavioral health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
