About The Position

The Behavioral Health Therapist works in the Group Practice at Ascension Behavioral Health Outpatient in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The role performs diagnostic assessments, creates individualized treatment plans, provides psychotherapy and applicable group and family therapy, and documents clinical information and services in accordance with departmental standards and applicable regulations. The therapist also provides direct clinical supervision to interns and assigned staff.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required.
• Hold one or more required credentials from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation: Clinical Counselor, Counselor, Psychologist, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist; credential must be obtained before the hire or job transfer date.
• Must have LCSW or LCPC.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostic assessments of patients’ needs and psychosocial status.
• Develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans and goals for patients.
• Provide psychotherapy, group therapy, and family therapy when applicable.
• Document pertinent information from interviews, consultations with healthcare professionals, referrals, contacts, and supportive services provided to each patient.
• Complete documentation and reporting in accordance with departmental standards and federal and state regulations.
• Provide direct clinical supervision to interns and assigned staff.
