About The Position

UPMC's Western Behavioral Health is looking to hire a full-time Behavioral Health Therapist I to join their Adult Mood and Anxiety Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospital Programs team in Wexford. Wexford IOP is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services both in-person and virtually to adults facing a variety of challenges. We support individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health conditions through evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Our team is committed to fostering a supportive and compassionate environment, helping our clients achieve their personal goals and maintain their overall well-being.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
  • Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in practicing state's code.
  • A copy of your graduate-level transcripts must be attached for consideration.
  • Must sign a license agreement and be actively working to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), or Licensed Family Marriage Therapist (LMFT) within 30 months of hire.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Nice To Haves

  • One year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Completes same-day clinical documentation and provides necessary information for service authorization.
  • Reviews cases and patient condition changes with the supervisor and clinical team.
  • Assesses and updates patient needs and treatment plans.
  • Conducts new patient assessments under supervision and implements treatment models.
  • Provides individual and group therapy, engages families, and educates patients on recovery.
  • Documents all patient interactions and case management activities.
  • Discusses additional service needs with the clinical team and makes referrals as needed.
  • Participates in treatment team meetings to review and update treatment plans.
  • Maintains daily clinical productivity records.
  • Creates comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse needs.
