About The Position

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist to join the team. This is a PRN position requiring a flexible schedule to cover weekdays or weekends, with 8-hour shifts starting between 8-9 am. Requirements

• Certification - Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
• Crisis Prevention Institute in-person training for non-violent crisis intervention, receive CPI blue card within 6 months of hire; After 9/1/25, Vistelar replaces CPI for new and renewed de-escalation certifications.
• Licensure - Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP) within 5 years.
• Must comply with the appropriate licensing board requirement for registering as a Resident in Training or Supervisee in Clinical Social Work or applicable title identified by the specific licensing board within 4 months of hire.
• Internship in mental health or substance use disorder treatment completed within 90 days of employment.
• Masters Degree Behavioral Science and Health Masters degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in mental health, social work, counseling, psychology, or behavioral health-related field.

Responsibilities

• Provides a range of mental health and/or substance use disorders therapeutic interventions, psycho-educational programming and behavioral interventions (when indicated) to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan.
• May participate in inpatient and community psychoeducational programs.
• Facilitates support groups for specified disease processes related to mental health, medical diagnosis, chronic or life-limited illnesses.
• Assists with community outreach.
• Duties will be performed under the clinical supervision of an approved registered clinical supervisor.
