About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehab centers with eighteen locations across seven states, known for its evidence-based clinical curriculum and individualized care across detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services. The Behavioral Health Technician role involves managing all daily residential operations, including client intake, supervision, event coordination, transportation, food service, and medication management. This position also entails training and supporting other BHT team members, escalating concerns or crises to the Lead Behavioral Health Technician, fostering client engagement and morale to maintain a positive recovery environment, and ensuring compliance with all Avenues rules, policies, and procedures for both clients and BHT staff. The work is performed at Avenues Recovery Center at Norfolk, an inpatient detox and residential facility.

Requirements

If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Warm, empathetic personality with ability to set firm boundaries
Dignified, honest character which models recovery principles

Nice To Haves

High School diploma or GED preferred
Valid driver's license and CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

Manage all daily residential operations (i.e. Intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications etc.)
Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities
Escalate any concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician
Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm and positive recovery environment
Ensure client and BHT compliance to all Avenues rules, policies and procedures
