About The Position

Boley Centers, Inc., a private, non-profit organization established in 1970, is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide services for clients in an assigned residential facility. The organization serves individuals with mental disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, Veterans, and youth in Pinellas County. The BHT will offer services such as Living Skills Training, transportation to activities, counseling, medication monitoring, housekeeping assistance, and maintaining required documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Associates degree.
  • Completion of certification as a Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) required within time frame allotted per Agency policy (if not holding a Bachelor's degree).
  • With an Associates degree, a minimum of one year of paid experience in behavioral health care.
  • With a high school diploma, an additional 2 years of paid experience in behavioral health care.
  • A Bachelor's degree may substitute for certification and required experience.
  • Education must be from an accredited school, college, or university.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Must pass a Level 2 background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental illness, counseling techniques and behavior modification preferred.
  • Good skills and demonstrated abilities in communication-verbal and written, interpersonal relations, teaching/instructing, counseling, coaching, training, basic math and language, record keeping, evaluating, organization and planning, following procedures/ instructions-verbal and/or written, crisis intervention and such others that are usually and customarily considered necessary for satisfactory completion of essential duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Living Skills Training.
  • Provide transportation to and from activities.
  • Provide counseling services.
  • Monitor medication.
  • Assist with housekeeping.
  • Maintain records, receipts, and other documentation as required by regulations, policies, and procedures.
