Silvermist Poconos, part of Pyramid Healthcare, is seeking a Full-Time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team on 2nd shift. The BHT plays an important role in creating a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for clients receiving behavioral health and substance use treatment. You will work closely with clients throughout their daily treatment programming, provide support and encouragement, and help maintain a structured environment that promotes recovery. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping others and wants to build experience in the behavioral health and addiction treatment field. Previous behavioral health experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging or crisis situations.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Reliable, organized, flexible, and adaptable.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Previous mental health, substance use, behavioral health, or residential treatment experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience facilitating groups or activities is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the intake process for new clients entering the program.
  • Positively engage with clients and provide support throughout their treatment experience.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed client logs and shift communication records.
  • Listen to and respond appropriately to client concerns and needs.
  • Help maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and client interventions as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and support client activities and programming.
  • Ensure clients follow their daily treatment schedules.
  • Support and reinforce treatment plan objectives.
  • Conduct required bed checks and accurately complete shift documentation.
  • Monitor medication lines and assist with maintaining an organized medication process.
  • Conduct searches during intake or when otherwise required by program policy.
  • Monitor clients for safety and medical needs and promptly communicate concerns to clinical or medical staff.
  • Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries and follow the Staff Code of Ethics.
  • Communicate effectively with the treatment team and other staff members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
