Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Behavioral Health Technician training program or relevant certification preferred.
• Experience in mental health or behavioral health settings, including direct patient care.
• Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Basic understanding of crisis management and intervention techniques.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Clinical documentation and maintaining accurate records are essential for ensuring continuity of care and legal compliance in daily operations.
• Crisis management and crisis intervention skills are applied regularly to respond promptly and effectively to behavioral emergencies, ensuring patient and staff safety.
• Clinical assessments and mental health knowledge enable the technician to monitor patient progress and contribute valuable insights to treatment planning.
• Skills in discharge planning support smooth transitions for patients returning to community settings or other care levels.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Certification in Crisis Intervention or Mental Health First Aid.
• Experience working with pediatric or adolescent populations with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED).
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills tailored to diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting clinical assessments and monitoring patient behavior to inform treatment plans.
• Provide direct patient care, including support with daily living activities and therapeutic interventions.
• Implement crisis intervention techniques to manage and de-escalate behavioral emergencies effectively.
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes and discharge plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized treatment and discharge plans.
