About The Position
George Junior Republic, founded in 1909, is dedicated to helping at-risk youth become successful, well-adjusted adults, capable of achieving a higher degree of citizenship and a better understanding of their responsibility to society, family, and self. The Behavioral Health Technician in the Secure Detention Program is the primary childcare personnel. This position is designed to provide the daily services of safety, security, and structure to the persons served. The care, custody, and supervision of the persons served are the primary concerns of the job. This position is located in Grove City, PA, on the George Junior Republic Campus.
Requirements
- Must have at least an Associates degree or Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice or a related field.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Act 33/34 Clearances will be required.
- Must be able to work a rotating schedule.
- Must be able to perform passive physical restraint.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with behavioral modification, and treatment principles preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor youth
- Complete Treatment Goal Notes
- Assist in teaching youth life skills
