Behavioral Health Technician (PRN - As Needed)
About The Position
Pyramid Healthcare in Augusta, GA is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team on a PRN basis. The BHT provides direct care, support, supervision, and engagement to clients receiving behavioral health and substance use treatment services in a structured residential setting. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment while helping clients navigate their recovery journey. The BHT works closely with clinical and support teams to meet client needs, promote stability and safety, and support each client’s progress throughout treatment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with a safe driving record
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required
- Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in crisis situations
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to gather and assess information and respond appropriately to client needs
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards
- Understanding of confidentiality, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements
- Commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

- Previous behavioral health, healthcare, residential treatment, or related experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the intake process for new clients entering the program
- Provide direct supervision, support, and engagement with clients throughout treatment
- Maintain accurate and timely client documentation
- Observe and document client self-administration of medications, as applicable
- Coordinate and support client activities
- Follow treatment plan objectives and address individual client needs
- Assess behavioral and emotional needs and respond appropriately, including crisis intervention when needed
- Provide safe and professional transportation services for clients, as needed
- Transport clients to and from designated locations within expected timeframes
- Supervise and support clients during transportation
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly treatment environment
- Assist with client dietary needs as required
- Complete all required documentation related to services provided
- Complete required trainings and maintain compliance with company standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
