About The Position
New Horizon Community Care (NHCC) is hiring Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) and Para Professionals to support youth and adults through structured, therapeutic programs across multiple locations including Chandler, Tempe, Glendale, Phoenix, and Casa Grande. NHCC emphasizes diversity and inclusion, striving to provide accessible, equitable, and culturally competent mental health care to individuals from all backgrounds. The role involves working in one of three programs: Direct Services (individualized support), CHOICE Day Program (structured therapeutic day program), or Therapeutic Recreation (after-school program using movement, recreation, art, and CBT-based activities). These programs aim to help clients develop coping skills, emotional regulation, decision-making, and improve academic or social engagement.
Requirements
- Experience with at-risk youth or behavioral health populations
- Strong communication & documentation skills
- Ability to manage group dynamics
- Comfort with structured environments
- Willingness to learn crisis intervention
- Meet state licensing requirements for BHTs/Para Professionals
- 21+ years old
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid AZ Driver's License & insurable driving record
- Must be able to obtain an AZ DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (Unrestricted)
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure safety
- Facilitate groups, activities, and skill-building sessions
- Support treatment goals and behavior plans
- Assist with documentation and case coordination
- Provide crisis intervention when needed
- Support academics (CHOICE)
- Participate in recreation and movement-based activities (Therapeutic Rec)
- Collaborate with clinical and program teams
