About The Position

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at New Horizon Community Care (NHCC) is a role focused on supporting youth and adults through structured, therapeutic programs. The role involves working across three distinct programs: Direct Services, CHOICE Day Program, and Therapeutic Recreation, all designed to help clients develop essential life skills, emotional regulation, and social engagement.

Requirements

• Experience with at-risk youth or behavioral health populations
• Strong communication & documentation skills
• Ability to manage group dynamics
• Comfort with structured environments
• Willingness to learn crisis intervention
• Meet state licensing requirements for BHTs/Para Professionals
• 21+ years old
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid AZ Driver's License & insurable driving record
• Must be able to obtain an AZ DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (Unrestricted)

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure safety
• Facilitate groups, activities, and skill-building sessions
• Support treatment goals and behavior plans
• Assist with documentation and case coordination
• Provide crisis intervention when needed
• Support academics (CHOICE)
• Participate in recreation and movement-based activities (Therapeutic Rec)
• Collaborate with clinical and program teams
