About The Position

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at New Horizon Community Care (NHCC) is a role focused on supporting youth and adults through structured, therapeutic programs. NHCC emphasizes diversity and inclusion, aiming to provide accessible, equitable, and culturally competent mental health care. The role involves working across three distinct programs: Direct Services, CHOICE Day Program, and Therapeutic Recreation, all designed to help clients develop essential life skills, emotional regulation, and social engagement.

Requirements

  • Experience with at-risk youth or behavioral health populations
  • Strong communication & documentation skills
  • Ability to manage group dynamics
  • Comfort with structured environments
  • Willingness to learn crisis intervention
  • Meet state licensing requirements for BHTs/Para Professionals
  • 21+ years old
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid AZ Driver's License & insurable driving record
  • Must be able to obtain an AZ DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (Unrestricted)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure safety
  • Facilitate groups, activities, and skill-building sessions
  • Support treatment goals and behavior plans
  • Assist with documentation and case coordination
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed
  • Support academics (CHOICE)
  • Participate in recreation and movement-based activities (Therapeutic Rec)
  • Collaborate with clinical and program teams
