Community Based Behavioral Health Technician
About The Position
Northeast Counseling Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our Community and School-Based Behavioral Health team. This position offers the opportunity to provide direct support to children and families in the environments where they live, learn, and grow. As a BHT, you will deliver therapeutic and case management services in community-based settings such as homes, schools, community centers, churches, and other natural environments. Working alongside a multidisciplinary treatment team, you will help children and families build skills, overcome challenges, and achieve meaningful goals while promoting emotional, behavioral, and social well-being.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, Counseling, Education, or a related human services field.
- Successful completion of an FBI Clearance, PA Criminal Clearance and Child Abuse Clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of experience working in mental health, behavioral health, child welfare, education, or a related human services setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic interventions and behavioral support services to children and families.
- Deliver services in community-based settings, including homes, schools, and other natural environments.
- Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the clinical team.
- Support children and families in developing skills that improve daily functioning and emotional wellness.
- Coordinate with schools, community resources, caregivers, and treatment providers.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
- Participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure services are effective, medically necessary, and responsive to client needs.
