About The Position

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide peer and operational support to patients during recovery. The BHT spends significant time with patients, fostering trust and connection while helping ensure their safety. This is a PRN, as-needed position in Boca Raton, Florida, scheduled Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., paying $17 per hour. The role reports to the Director of Operations.

Requirements

Have a safe driving record and a clean DMV report for the last three years.
Be at least 23 years of age to comply with motor vehicle insurance requirements.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or higher.

Nice To Haves

Relevant behavioral health certification.
Work experience in substance use disorder or mental health treatment.
Experience working with patients at various levels of care, especially detox and residential care.
An associate's degree or higher.

Responsibilities

Monitor patients and facility grounds, conduct safety checks, communicate patient attention needs to medical staff, enforce facility rules, and document incidents.
Measure and report vital signs and conduct urine drug screen (UDS) and pregnancy tests in accordance with company policies.
Interact with patients respectfully and professionally, provide emotional support, refer clinical concerns to therapy staff, and respond empathetically and adaptively to diverse needs.
Share relevant patient information with the Team Leader and Supervisor/Operations Director, collaborate with the team to support high-quality care, maintain positive relationships in the addiction treatment community, and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Assist with patient transportation, group coordination, and recreational activities; help maintain facility safety, supervise supplies, and prepare for patient discharges.
