The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) performs a vital, front-line function in the facility, serving as the eyes and ears of the treatment team. The BHT is the liaison between patient and clinical/medical staff whose priority is to assist in providing a safe and caring environment for individuals in recovery. The primary responsibility of the BHT is to help ensure patient safety by performing regular patient rounds, make and record observations, and timely report any concerns to a member of the nursing staff and management. Patients need care 24 hours a day, scheduled work hours may include nights, weekends and holidays. BHTs work under the shift supervision of the nursing staff.
