Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) for per diem opportunities in Waelder, TX. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, empathy, and composure in high-stress or crisis situations
  • Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Driving roles require: valid driver's license, 3-year record of safe driving, minimum age of 21, and ability to meet company motor vehicle insurance requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Personal or professional familiarity with the local recovery community; lived experience is highly valued
  • Work experience in substance use disorder or mental health treatment
  • Experience supporting patients in inpatient levels of care
  • Relevant behavioral health certification

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of structured daily programming and group coordination
  • Build consistent, trust-based relationships with patients to reinforce engagement and progress
  • Monitor patients and the facility environment; conduct regular safety checks
  • Communicate patient observations and needs to clinical and medical staff
  • Ensure adherence to program structure and facility rules
  • Document observations, safety checks, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner
  • Transport patients to and from program and community appointments
  • Measure and record vital signs
  • Conduct UDS and breathalyzer testing in accordance with company policy
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement throughout the program day
  • Recognize signs of clinical concern and refer appropriately to therapy or medical staff
  • Keep Team Leaders and the Supervisor/Operations Director informed of relevant patient information
  • Assist with supply management, discharge preparations, and day-to-day facility operations
