Pyramid Healthcare in Newport News is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide direct support to individuals on their recovery journey while helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct care and supervision to clients receiving treatment services. This role supports clients throughout their treatment while helping maintain a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to work overnight hours and maintain a safe and supportive environment throughout the shift
Nice To Haves
- Previous behavioral health or human services experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with the intake and admission process for new clients
- Provide direct client support and actively listen to client needs
- Communicate effectively with team members through verbal updates and written documentation
- Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary
- Conduct mandatory bed checks and complete detailed shift reports
- Monitor the medication line in accordance with company policy
- Ensure clients follow daily schedules and treatment plans
- Participate in shift changes, team meetings, and company meetings
- Assist with scheduled activities, educational lectures, recreation, and group meetings as needed
- Transport clients to meetings, appointments, and recreational activities as needed
