About The Position

Join a mission-driven, trauma-informed, patient-centered team supporting adolescents (12–17) in mental health treatment, recovery, and life-skills development. As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you’ll partner with licensed clinicians to provide direct patient care, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic engagement. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing careers in mental health, offering growth opportunities and support for those in school or seeking to gain experience.

Requirements

  • 21+ with HS diploma/GED
  • Willingness for CPR/First Aid, physical intervention training (provided)
  • Ability to stand, move quickly, and support crisis stabilization
  • Must pass background and drug screening per MO law

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in human services preferred
  • 0–1+ year in behavioral health, education, coaching, or youth services (preferred)
  • Prior mental health or youth experience

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate group activities (art, music, recreation) to build coping skills
  • Provide behavioral support, mentoring, and structured routines
  • Use evidence-based, trauma-informed care techniques
  • Document progress and collaborate with clinical teams
  • Respond to escalations using safe intervention protocols
