About The Position

The Behavioral Health Technician - ABA (BHT-ABA) provides individualized, one-to-one ABA support to children and adolescents with behavioral disorders across various settings (school, home, community, and/or clinic) during the school year. The BHT-ABA implements individualized behavioral interventions based on treatment plan goals created by an ABA Behavior Consultant (BC-ABA).

Requirements

  • According to PA state regulations, individuals who provide BHT-ABA services must meet at least one of the following qualifications. If you have not yet completed the indicated trainings but meet the other listed requirements, you are welcome to apply.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED and have completed an approved 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List
  • Have 2+ years of experience in providing ABA services and have completed 40+ hours of approved training related to ABA
  • Have a BCaBA, RBT, BCAT, or other approved behavior analysis certification

Responsibilities

  • Fosters a positive therapeutic relationship with the child
  • Implements intervention strategies with clients
  • Follows treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing the ABA program designed by the BC-ABA and seeks out consultation when needed
  • Demonstrates initiative and responsibility for pursuing therapeutic resources for clients in accordance with the Center for Autism’s mission statement
  • Provides crisis management and support to clients, including prevention, de-escalation, and processing of strategies to support improved client functioning
  • Completes daily billing information
  • Accurately completes daily data collection
  • Ensures clinical interventions and client safety
  • Completes daily data sheet for clients
  • Completes incident/injury reports as necessary
  • Participates in team meetings
  • Provides input and feedback that contributes to the development of the treatment plan
  • Shares responsibility for maintaining team meeting documentation
  • Maintains effectiveness in response to various situational demands
  • Actively engages and coaches the client, as well as their caregivers, teachers, and/or other adult supports, to work toward the achievement of treatment goals by applying a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Attends supervision and training as directed and in accordance with the service contract
  • Attends supervision and training as directed and following service contract (1 hour of supervision weekly for staff working 20 or more hours per week; ½ hour of supervision weekly for staff working fewer than 20 hours per week)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors
