About The Position

Mountains Behavioral Health is seeking a Full Time Behavioral Health Tech to join their team. In this role, you will exemplify the IRMC mission, vision, and values, acting in accordance with IRMC policies and procedures to ensure quality care is provided. You will identify each patient’s age-specific needs and provide appropriate care as assigned. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care such as monitoring conditions, taking vital signs, observing, recording, and reporting behaviors under the supervision of nursing. You will also lead patients in therapeutic and recreational activities, assist with teaching life skills, and complete patient documentation. A key aspect of this role is helping to provide a safe and secure unit environment for all patients and staff in compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skills is essential for effectively communicating with patients and families, and reporting any concerning events to members of the organization. You will be required to float to all units, including geri-psych, adult, and adolescent. Additionally, you will be responsible for patient transports to and from hospital departments (including the medical center) and for the delivery of supplies to departments as necessary.

Requirements

  • A high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid PA driver’s license with no previous violation
  • BLS required or attained within 1 month of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year in behavioral health preferred.
  • Previous work experience in health care preferred.
  • Psychiatric work experience preferred.
