This position provides direct patient care, primarily those tasks requiring less technical nursing skills, under the direction of a Behavioral Health Specialist or registered nurse. Requirements

  • Specialized training in basic patient care preferred (e.g. CNA, MA, military medical training, NA, NT, nursing student who has completed skills labs or has at least 6 months experience in direct patient care)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS Required at the time of Hire

Responsibilities

  • Works as part of an interdisciplinary team to support patients with behavioral health conditions including substance use, PTSD, suicidal or homicidal ideation, mental instability, and trauma.
  • Observes and documents patient mood, behavior, and interactions; completes rounds and precautionary checks; reports concerns to nursing staff.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs delegated care tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, safe, and well‑stocked patient care environment.
