About The Position

The Behavioral Health Tech Supervisor (BHT Supervisor) is responsible for assisting and supporting patients throughout their treatment experience, from admission to discharge. The BHT Supervisor will contribute insightful, practical, and meaningful information to the treatment planning process. Key responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, providing patient interventions, leading psychoeducational groups, supporting patients, monitoring the compliance of tech staff, assisting with staff scheduling, and participating in ongoing training for tech staff. Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Two or more years of experience working within the leadership, management, mental health, substance use, or eating disorder field required.
  • Valid and unrestricted State Driver’s License.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPI certification within 90 days of hire (training provided).
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid, along with Food Handling/Safety certification within 30 days of hire (training provided).
  • Minimum 1 year sobriety if in recovery (Substance Use Division).
  • Minimum 1 year recovery from eating disorder if in recovery (Eating Disorder Division).

  • Collaborating and reviewing quality and safety progress with facility leadership, ensuring alignment with facility KPIs.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patient information and records; and of facility/company proprietary, privileged, and/or confidential information.
  • Facilitating patient daily needs per the program schedule, including but not limited to: waking/bedtime routines and hygiene, meals/snacks, bathroom safety observations, free time.
  • Assisting Nursing staff with duties as directed, for example: patient supervision, vitals, room searches, patient searches, etc.
  • Recognizing, responding to, and assisting in crisis situations and providing interventions as appropriate.
  • Consistently reporting to work on time and prepared to perform the duties of the position.
  • Assisting in the implementation of individual patient treatment plans per clinical team.
  • Supporting patients during admission and discharge processes, which may include checking in patient belongings, acclimating patients to the program, and preparing patients for returning home.
  • Monitoring patient activity and documenting any significant patient issues.
  • Completing all shift notes, group notes, and other required documentation by the end of shift.
  • Maintaining an organized and safe environment and performing basic housekeeping duties.
  • Conducting regular facility and grounds checks, advising facility leadership of any irregularities or safety concerns.
  • Facilitating and leading daily groups as directed by facility leadership if applicable.
  • Attending all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Completing all online training, policy verification, and ensuring that their employee HR file is kept up to date.
  • Providing transportation services including patient transportation/supervision, errands, shopping, admits, outings, etc. (must be pre-qualified to drive a company vehicle).
  • Participating in and providing support in the training, scheduling, and supervision of tech staff.
  • Obtaining missing employee documentation.
  • Reviewing and approving tech staff timecards, requested days off, and shift exchange requests.
  • Participating in the performance evaluation and disciplinary action of tech employees if applicable.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Providing supervision and support to patients during mealtimes, which requires staff to eat meals and snacks with patients.
  • Refraining from comments and actions that directly contradict the CFD Clinical Model and Dietary CARE model.
  • Familiarizing and adopting the Philosophy, Mission, Goals, and Objectives of the Center for Discovery treatment programs.
  • Having basic knowledge of the clinical orientation and interventions used at Center for Discovery.
  • Passing medicine will be necessary in states where permissible (training and/or required certification will be provided).
