About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Part Time Behavioral Health Tech/Driver for their Outpatient Facility in Metairie, LA. This role involves providing day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams, engaging with clients, monitoring their safety, and fulfilling administrative duties. A key responsibility includes safely transporting clients for admissions, discharges, and appointments, while also collecting necessary documentation and specimens. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, empathetic, and model recovery principles.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required
Valid Driver's license
If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety required
Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills
Warm, compassionate and empathetic personality
Dignified character that models recovery principles
Extensive knowledge of all motor vehicle laws

Nice To Haves

CPR certification preferred
Minimum 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams (admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones etc.)
Engage and build rapport with clients, creating a warm, accepting recovery environment
Monitor clients and enforce all Avenues policies to ensure safety of both clients and staff
Record and escalate any critical communication/ incidents in a timely manner
Fulfill all administrative duties (shift documentation, inventory, meetings, office support etc.)
Monitor transportation schedule, safely transporting clients for admit, discharge and appointments as necessary
Collect and deliver all external appointment documentation and lab specimens as necessary
Engage clients on peer support level during transport, and assist with any luggage
Ensure vehicle is well-maintained, fully fueled, and ready for use at all times
