About The Position

The Behavioral Health Supervisor position is part of the Behavioral Health team at Ward 86, and is part of the clinical leadership at Ward 86. The Behavioral Health Supervisor is responsible for providing administrative and clinical supervision to Patient Navigators and other behavioral health staff who function as Patient Coordinators within Ward 86’s clinical programs. The Behavioral Health Supervisor may screen and assesses patients for service needs, psychosocial history and presentation, and develop and execute care plans. This position may be responsible for contract oversight, compliance, and contract deliverables. This position is part of a larger multidisciplinary HIV primary care team that includes medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, patient navigators, and other clinical staff. The central focus of this position is to plan and supervise the delivery of patient coordination services to patients living with HIV, individuals at risk of HIV acquisition, and patients living with high psychosocial complexity. The Behavioral Health Supervisor will supervise the patient coordination services operations within assigned clinical programs, collaborating closely with the clinical leads of these programs. Working within a multidisciplinary management team, which includes Medical Providers, Registered Nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the Behavioral Health Supervisor will provide leadership and guidance on clinical matters, while also handling administrative responsibilities such as setting work schedules, resolving system issues, and managing complex cases and escalated clinical issues. In addition to administrative and programmatic leadership functions, the Behavioral Health Supervisor may provide direct services to patients with complex psychosocial needs. This may include individuals experiencing homelessness or unstable housing, substance use, and complex mental illness. The Behavioral Health Supervisor will work collaboratively with internal care team members, as well as external case managers, care navigators, and other organizations and departments that provide supportive services to our patient population. The Behavioral Health Supervisor will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals we serve, through both rendering direct patient care and by ensuring that patient coordinators and allied staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to provide comprehensive care.
