About The Position

We are looking for dedicated Behavioral Health Specialists to provide individualized support services to youth and families in the foster care system who are enrolled in our Children’s Waiver Services program. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working independently and flexibly in the community. We have part-time positions available in the Nyack, West Nyack, New City and Suffern areas.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an approved DOH field of study, AND a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children with mental/behavioral health needs; or a Master's degree in a related field and 1 year of experience.
Ability to work independently and manage your schedule
Strong documentation and communication skills
Comfort with technology and electronic recordkeeping

Responsibilities

Family Support & Advocacy: Help families access resources, strengthen parenting skills, and promote shared caregiving.
Psychosocial Rehabilitation: Support youth in developing coping, communication, and daily living skills.
Respite Services: Provide caregivers with essential breaks while engaging youth in meaningful activities.
Pre-Vocational & Supportive Employment Services: Help teens 14+ prepare for and maintain employment.
Community Advocacy & Training: Collaborate with schools and educate families on special education rights.
Crisis Support & Treatment Planning: Develop proactive safety plans to reduce hospitalizations and out-of-home placements.
Day Habilitation Services: Support children with developmental disabilities in developing life and social skills.
