About The Position

The Registration Technician is a member of the Behavioral Health Team and is responsible for the collection, verification, and entry for all un'ina (patient) demographic and insurance information. The accurate and timely performance of job duties of the Registration Technician directly impacts the revenue received by the Kenaitze Indian Tribe.

Requirements

High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED)
One year (1) of experience in scheduling or registration functions
Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain training within 90 days of hire
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others

Nice To Haves

Insurance verification and charge collections experience
Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR, Part 2
Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities

Responsibilities

Greets all un'ina, co-workers with a smile- provides exceptional customer service with each interaction
Responsible for un'ina registration, ensuring accurate capture and data entry of all un'ina updated demographic and insurance information
Ensures capture of all charges for services provided at Behavioral Health
Operates credit card machine and cash drawer
Scans ID, CIB, and insurance cards into electronic registration package
Hands out referral forms, intake packets, educational materials, as needed
Verification of insurance
Monitors waiting room behaviors; notify Safety & Security in the event of disruptive un'ina
Make reminder phone calls for appointments
Sort mail and ensure delivery to appropriate personnel and provide assistance to Behavioral Health Department as needed
